Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IS, computer science, business administration, or similar
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise data management, advanced analytics technologies, or a related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience as a manager, director or above
  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical, healthcare or research environment
  • One or more years of experience of working experience in cloud data infrastructure (AWS preferred)

The Chief Information Security Officer is a high-profile position that will provide leadership over enterprise information security management across patient care and research. As part of the IT leadership team, the CISO reports to the CIO and will interface with executive leaders in the organization including research. The CISO will lead a strong team of approximately 15 individuals and be the security “thought leader” and strategist for the organization.

The CISO is responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected. The CISO is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and reporting on information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the enterprise. He/she will proactively work with business units and IT functional areas to implement practices that meet defined policies and standards for information security.

The CISO serves as the process owner of all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of patient, employee and corporate information in compliance with the organization’s information security policies. A key element of this role is working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization. He/she must be highly knowledgeable about the business environment and ensure that information systems are maintained in a fully functional, secure mode. The Director of IT Quality & Standards has oversight oIT standards related to quality assurance, robust testing processes and procedures, service management, and business architecture and will work across a highly matrixed environment to solve the most pressing challenges at the intersection of business, technology, and function. 

 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10years of related experience with business architecture, business relationship management/customer service, IT service management, and QA testing standards. 
  • 2years of experience in clinical, healthcare, research, and/or academia environment 
  • 5+ years of leadership experience as a manager, director, or above  

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • 5+ years in progressively responsible technology roles within the healthcare industry 
  • 3+ years of healthcare IT management 
  • 3+ years of related experience in an academic/research/Cancer Center environment 
  • ITIL, COBIT or other ITSM framework, Lean and/or Six Sigma, CMMI certifications

With the incredible growth of Moffitt Cancer Center, and the new strategic plan, Impact 2028, Moffitt leadership is investing heavily in the Information Technology division to rapidly accelerate maturity and position the organization for the future. Moffitt’s strategic plan is heavily dependent on information technology; one of three pillars is the Digital Care/Discovery Accelerator led by the new Chief Digital Innovation Officer. In addition to the data organization under the direction of the Chief Data Officer, the CDIO also has responsibility for digital innovation, and the Information Technology organization under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer. IT is a core enabler to the digital strategy and will participate in the design, development and implementation of the digital plan. In order to ensure the core functions of IT are positioned to support a rapidly growing organization and achieve the ambitions of the strategic plan, Moffitt is investing nearly $10 million dollars and recruiting over 90 new team members in IT demonstrating the organization’s commitment to technology excellence.

One of the new positions includes the Director of Clinical Support Applications. The Director of Clinical Support Applications is one of five individuals reporting to the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). The CMIO oversees a team that will grow to over 120 team members supporting clinical informatics and technology services for Moffitt Cancer Center. The office of the CMIO includes; Associate CMIO, Director of Pathology Informatics, Director of Clinical Informatics, Director of Patient Care Applications, and the Director of Clinical Support Applications.

The Director of Clinical Support Applications will support all ancillary systems, including enterprise imaging, pathology, radiation oncology, pulmonology, and clinical department systems. Some core applications include Cerner, GE PACs, Sunquest Anatomic Pathology, and several other departmental systems. The position will have responsibility for providing applications support for very complex services within the Cancer Center that includes Nextgen technologies needed in a research-enabled cancer center. The IT department needs a solid foundation, ensure the right resources, processes and technologies are in place driving maturity and building strong business partnership across the organization The Director of Clinical Support Applications will work closely with the ancillary department leadership to optimize system functionality and hire and develop advanced technology skills required to support state-of-the-art technologies in support of the mission of the organization to prevent and cure cancer. The position currently has leadership positions for pathology, imaging, and departmental systems. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for the creation, maintenance. and management of IT architecture models and their lower level components. The EA will also interpret, use, and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of IT systems. As a senior level architect, their primary role will be to ensure that the respective business, application and data technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s technology, governance strategies, polices and standards. They will have direct oversight of the Technology Roadmap and make sure it is accurate and achievable. Serving as the key advisor to the Chief Technology Officer, they will represent technology on various committees, workgroups, design sessions, and vendor selection processes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology
  • 5+ years in an IT architecture function with some part of that as an Enterprise Architect

Preferred:

  • Direct or indirect healthcare experience as an employee or consultant
