Senior Director of Enterprise Applications Position Overview

The Senior Director of Enterprise Applications (SDEA) is a newly created position for SIH. The SDEA will report to the CIO and oversee four direct reports (the total team size is 50). This key leadership position will bridge the gap between the CIO and the manager level, adding accountability, improving productivity, and providing mentoring.

The SDEA will:

  • Plan and manage large-scale implementation projects
  • Develop and promote standardization
  • Anticipate the needs of the organization
  • Partner with leadership to deliver high-value IT solutions
  • Align/exceed organization objectives
  • Build and sustain professional relationships at all levels of the organization

Initial projects include these high-visibility initiatives:

  • Assisting with the transition and implementation of Epic into a newly acquired hospital

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Senior Director, Enterprise Architect Position Overview

The Senior Director, Enterprise Architect is an exciting opportunity to work at the critical intersection where innovations that save and sustain lives meet the healthcare providers that make it happen.  

The Senior Director, Enterprise Architect will partner with healthcare customers to develop and deliver bespoke solutions based on Baxter’s products.  This position will also work with Baxter’s product team to develop the future roadmaps of Baxter’s products.  

The Senior Director, Enterprise Architect will act as a technology leader and SME supporting Baxter’s U.S. Hospital Products Organization (USHPO). 

Reporting to the Vice President of Innovation & Enterprise Technology, this role is directly responsible for the review, design, delivery and execution of Enterprise level solutions for Baxter U.S. customers.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree and/or 7+ years of work experience in enterprise architecture solutions management.

Experience:

  • Must have experience supporting clinical environments to include Acute Care environments.
  • Experience working with hospital systems’ technical leadership and third party hospital information system providers such as Cerner, Epic, Meditech, etc.
  • Experience designing solutions that utilize Containerization and Virtualization. 

Attributes/skill sets:

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise technology and architecture. 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand complex workflows and business processes.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to implement enterprise solutions.
  • Comprehensive project management understanding and experience.

  • Baxter’s enterprise software solution architecture and implementation is on-premises and an understanding of different enterprise architecture methodologies is needed.

Chief Medical Informatics Officer – Ambulatory Position Overview

University Health has a mature IT organization that has achieved HIMSS Level 7 and Most Wired Level 10. They had a successful go-live of Epic in July of 2020 and received the Good Install award. The IT organization is committed to supporting the continued growth of University Health while leveraging technology to support patient care.  

The Chief Medical Informatics Officer – Ambulatory is a highly visible executive and medical leader who supports and promotes Epic optimization and effective use to ambulatory clinicians and administrators.

They will report to the CIO and will work in close collaboration with the CMIO – Inpatient.  

The CMIO – Ambulatory will help determine which new features to install and help define strategic clinical priorities for continuous improvement. They will also encourage other clinicians to participate in the direction-setting and adoption of Epic.

This sense of community ownership should help clinicians see Epic as something they’re participating in to improve clinical workflows and clinical documentation in the care of patients.  

The CMIO – Ambulatory will leverage Signal data from Epic to help ambulatory physicians become more effective and reduce ‘pajama-time’. They will also serve as a liaison between Ambulatory administration, clinicians, project governance, executive sponsors, and the Epic team for optimization, upgrades, and management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Required Education & Experience:

Education:

  • If no degree, 10 years of progressive experience in a combination of design and/or architecture disciplines

Required Skills:

  • Well-versed in enterprise technology buying and evaluation processes paired with a strong understanding of hyper-scale computing solutions and experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global cloud-based systems
  • 5+ years of experience implementing virtual environments in private and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience in architecting, developing software, or Internet scale production-grade big data solutions in virtualized environments
