Vice President of IT Clinical Systems Position Overview

The Vice President of IT Clinical Systems is a senior executive providing leadership for the development, management and integration of information and technologies necessary to support the mission, strategies, objectives and goals of the Albany Med Health System.  

Reporting to the System CIO and working as a collaborative partner with senior leader colleagues, the VP will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the information technology systems for Albany Med Health System, including:

The position has direct responsibility for the Technology CHR transformation team. The VP will teach, advocate, and mentor managers and staff on how to apply standards, tools, and methodologies while delivering high quality business focused customer service. 

Key critical relationships include the system chief medical informatics officer, system chief nursing informatics officer and many executive colleagues.

Qualifications

Required:

The Executive Director, Enterprise Business Systems Design Services at Southcoast Health is a highly visible position that will collaborate with business stakeholders in human resources, supply chain and finance. This position will set strategic direction and help users understand “the art of possible” with Peoplesoft and other supporting business systems. The Executive Director will work in a team-based environment as collaborative influencer in the Digital Health Services (DHS) Department. DHS is responsible for providing enterprise technology services to all Southcoast Health entities. ERP optimization is a top executive priority for Southcoast Health and this leader will leverage significant capital investment that is already earmarked for optimization. The Executive Director, Enterprise Business Systems Design Services will mature business processes and increase utilization. He/she will actively participate in governance and will work to advance analytics maturity. 

Under the general direction of the Senior Vice President/Chief Digital & Innovation Officer for Southcoast Health System, the Executive Director, Enterprise Business Systems Design Services performs a wide variety of duties including planning, directing, and evaluating staff in implementing Enterprise Resource Planning software. He/she is responsible for working with departmental leaders to identify and/or implement improved work processes and increased efficiencies. 

The Executive Director, Enterprise Business Systems Design Services establishes and enforces standard methods for evaluating solutions to define end user requirements and organize the projects necessary to select, code, test and install a wide variety of programs. 

The Executive Director, Enterprise Business Systems Design Services will review work in progress to ensure completeness, accuracy and adherence to standards. He/she works in close collaboration and cooperation with other Directors throughout the organization. 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field or equivalent knowledge & experience required

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare
  • 5+ years of experience managing major projects
  • 5+ years of IT management experience including supervision of staff
  • Intermediate mathematical skills; basic statistical analysis skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with process modeling, work redesign, and ROI initiatives
  • 5+ years experience working with Oracle PeopleSoft FSCM and HCM
  • Kronos experience for timekeeping and workforce scheduling highly desirable

Director of Health Technology Management Job Overview

The Director of Health Technology Management will join a fast-moving technology department focused on driving change and digital transformation.  

The Director will lead a team of two assistant directors, five managers and 50 technicians who manage over 47,000 devices within the Texas Children’s environment. This senior leader will develop consultative relationships with customer stakeholders across Texas Children’s Hospital and continue to build a service-oriented culture.

The Director of Health Technology Management will effectively direct a large multi-disciplinary biomedical engineering team while setting strategy for the Health Technology Management (HTM) department to advance the way we provide medical care to our patients. 

This senior leader will strategically plan, direct and develop all areas of HTM. The Director will provide leadership to meet operational and fiscal objectives for all services provided by the department with compliance to codes and regulations to ensure the safe and efficient operations of patient-care equipment. This includes but is not limited to: preventative maintenance and repair services, professional education, refreshing technologies, clinical research support, and bring innovated advance technologies to the forefront. 

This senior leader will proactively collaborate and partner with clinical, nursing, external partners, and information technology teams to ensure the HTM program continuously enhances services for the hospital system.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical engineering, clinical engineering, health information technology, computer science, math or electrical/mechanical engineering from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience working in a healthcare environment and knowledge of healthcare delivery system models
  • Progressive supervisory experience in managing patient care equipment in a hospital setting

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Professional Engineer License
