Position Overview

UW Health has created the Director of Digital Health Technology – Mobile Front Door position to grow its digital strategy and advance its use of mobile technologies to engage with patients, consumers, and providers.

The Director will lead mobile technologies and engagement for UW Health, which includes the enterprise mobile technology roadmap. The Director will deliver strategic initiatives by leading cross-functional technology teams.

The Director will oversee the delivery of several digital health services including:

  • Mobile engagement platform
  • Mobile applications
  • Customer data lakehouse
  • Intelligent automation
  • Machine learning algorithms

The Director will lead a Manager, Digital Health Technology who will lead the day-to-day execution of Mobile Front Door.

The Director will work closely with UW Health’s strategic industry partners, including Gozio, Epic, ServiceNow, UIPath, and Salesforce, to ensure that mobile technology is maximized for the benefit of UW Health’s patients.

UW Health is implementing Gozio for its inaugural mobile engagement platform, which will provide a front door for current and future digital solutions. Gozio will initially offer wayfinding for an upcoming, new medical facility, direct access to MyChart, and locations of hospitals and clinics.

UW Health’s consumer-centric, mobile engagement strategy will enable multiple forms of value, including:

  • Attracting and retaining prospective patients
  • Improving patient access to primary and specialty care
  • Enhancing patient engagement and education
  • Providing mobile wayfinding for buildings
  • Offering mobile access to MyChart
  • Providing digital triage for patients to receive care at the right time in the right venue (video, in-person, asynchronous)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Healthcare experience
  • Previous experience in mobile front door management
  • Solid background in data analytics
  • Experience implementing vendor-purchased apps such as Gozio, MyChart, UIPath, or ServiceNow
  • Ability to lead cross-functional IT/technology teams to deliver technology services and projects as efficiently and effectively as possible​ 
  • Agile lifecycle proficiency​ 
  • Success with organizational change management​ 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in an academic medical center
  • Experience with data science, such as building and deploying machine learning (ML) algorithms, and data lakehouse architecture

Work Location: 

The Director needs to reside in or relocate to Madison, WI.

While this is a hybrid position, this individual will need to be on-site the first and third weeks of the month.

The office environment is designed as a collaborative workspace with desk hoteling, a variety of team workspaces, treadmill workstations, natural light and colorful aesthetics, and flexible eating areas.
