Director, Clinical Informatics Position Highlights

Reporting to the Senior VP & CIO, the Director of IT Clinical Informatics will possess clinical informatics expertise, leadership experience, and project management skills. The Director will provide leadership that promotes inter-professional collaboration and integrates clinical practice knowledge and electronic health record principles. The Director supports internal clients to help change the electronic documentation, clinical workflow, and the use of technology in all phases of the healthcare continuum to promote clinical quality and patient safety. This position will manage 6 direct reports and about 30 indirect reports.

Position Highlights

Responsible for setting strategic directions for the Application Development and Support Services areas with a focus on the financial, registration, scheduling and document imaging systems utilized at Miami Children’s Hospital. The Director will be responsible for a team of 12 people, including a Manager.  This position reports to the Administrative Director, EMR and IT Clinical Operations. She/he will collaborate with MCH management as well as business, financial and operational leaders and staff, and other IT groups to provide support for the planning, acquisition, management, and implementation of systems and applications necessary to support the business, financial and operational needs of MCH. Will oversee the development, acquisition, implementation, integration and support of complex applications and system software.

Position Highlights

The Director, Ambulatory Informatics serves a key role at Tampa General Hospital as the senior level Information Technology leader accountable for supporting the technologies focused on outpatient services for Tampa General Hospital and Tampa General Medical Group. This role will oversee the implementation of IT services and new technology for existing clinics, new clinics, ambulatory expansion and the TGH outreach program (Practice Connect subsidy program to community physicians). The Director is also accountable for day-to-day operations and support for IT outpatient services including ambulatory operations and the TGH transplant program. The director promotes the use of technology, thoroughly analyzes technology and influences the implementation of technology to deliver superior quality of care, efficiencies and provider satisfaction. She/He also assists in the development and implementation of a vision for utilizing information technology and informatics for ambulatory focused patient safety, quality improvement, performance metrics, stakeholder engagement and end-user satisfaction for Tampa General Hospital and Tampa General Medical Group.
